Land Transportation Organization (Organda) Jakarta has lowered the tariff of public transport operating in the capital. These cuts come into effect on this day, April 4, 2016.
Chairman of Jakarta Organda Shafruhan Sinungan said the decline in public transport fares was a response from the transport business-related decline in the price of fuel oil (BBM). As is known, the government has reduced the price several times the Solar and Premium as the impact on the decline in world oil prices.
"It's the accumulation of January, when the decline in fuel prices," he said when talking with Liputan6.com in Jakarta, Monday (04/04/2016).
In the previous decline in fuel prices, transport operators can not make changes to public transit fares. Because the reduction in fuel prices by the government when it was considered too small so it does not yet have an impact on the operational costs of public transport.
"At that time the decline is also small so we may not cut rates. Well now it accumulated decrease rates of decline in fuel prices since January," he said.
According Shafruhan, public transport fares may be changed again if the government re-adjust fuel prices. However, these tariff changes must be with the permission of the Department of Transportation. "It could change again, later BBM Depending how," he said.
